Cookery Circle

In order to create a feeling of group spirit, a minimum number of 4 people are required to run a session. Sessions can be purchased as a Course of 6 sessions (minimum) and must be booked and paid for in full, 2 weeks in advance. This is to allow ingredients to be correctly sourced and ordered.

Courses of 9 and 12 sessions are also available for pre-booking.

A 9 session course (consecutive weeks) booked and paid for in advance will receive a discount of 5%

A 12 session course (consecutive weeks) booked and paid for in advance will receive a discount of 10%

In each 6 or 9 session course, one holiday may be taken. The missed session can be re-booked within a 3 month window.

In a 12 session course, two holidays may be taken. The two missed sessions can be re-booked within a 6 month window.

One Off Sessions can be booked, subject to space availability. These one off sessions must be paid for in full before the session. Prices as per the Book Now page.

Bookings are taken all year round. Sessions run all year round with a few exceptions (dates will be communicated in advance).

Course fees are non refundable unless the course is cancelled by That’s Amore... In this instance, you will be able to re-book a session or receive a full refund for it.

 

Children's Courses age 7 -13
Children will learn about menu planning, nutrition and healthy eating, some Italian language as well as cookery skills and kitchen hygiene. They will cook, clear, set the table and eat socially together.

Courses also include aspects of Slow Food's education programme  "A Journey From Taste to Origin"


Course have been planned and will be taught by Karen, who is a qualified secondary School Teacher with 13 years experience and has PSHE (Personal Social Health Education) Accreditation and  up to date CRB clearance.

Children must be aged between 7 and 13.

 

Children must bring with them a clean apron and tea towel each week.  Extra sets of our own ''That's Amore...' aprons and tea towels can be purchased from us.

 

Course fees are non refundable unless the course is cancelled by That’s Amore... In this instance, you will be able to re-book a session or receive a full refund for it.

 

Teen Skills Courses age 14 - 18

Students will learn about menu planning, nutrition and healthy eating, some Italian language as well as cookery skills and kitchen hygiene.  Lessons will include tips and advice about cooking on a budget, store cupboard ingredients, seasonal,  local and sustainable food. We will also have fun looking at how to cook and host for friends, family or that someone special! 

The last session of each term students will be putting into practice what they have learnt by preparing a meal for an invited guest!

Courses also include aspects of Slow Food's education programme
"A Journey from  Taste to  Origin"

There may be occasions when 
students are asked to visit a market in their own time in preparation for the session. Basic ingredients will be provided by us, however students will be asked to provide some of the ingredients each week, for example, meat and fish. This is to encourage them to shop for their own food and give them confidence in sourcing quality ingredients.

Students will need an apron and a tea towel (to be brought clean each week), A4 lined paper and a ring binder. Extra sets of our own ''That's Amore...'  aprons and tea towels can be purchased from us.

All Kid's cookery club course prices include:


-       Most Ingredients, drink and biscuits on arrival.

-          Courses to be paid in full two weeks before the beginning of the course.  

-          Courses are non refundable.

Kitchen Equipment

The kitchen is fully equipped with the utensils, pots and pans and crockery you will need. Small gas cooking stoves are provided for use in the sessions but remain the property of That’s Amore... and are stored safely on the premises.
